Job Title: Level 1 Desktop TechnicianFLSA Classification: Non-ExemptJob Type: Full-timeLocation: Torrance, CAReports to Director of ITSalary Range: per year (depending on experience)Position Summary:The Level 1 Desktop Technician is responsible for providing first-line technical support to employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues to ensure smooth daily operations. This role involves resolving technical problems, maintaining company devices, and escalating complex issues as needed.Essential Duties & Responsibilities.Respond to help desk tickets, phone calls, and emails to provide timely technical support.Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.Assist employees with system and application-related issues, including password resets and basic software support.Install, configure, and update operating systems, applications, and security patches on company computers and mobile devices.Maintain and track IT assets, ensuring proper documentation and inventory management.Identify and escalate complex technical issues to Level 2 or higher IT support.Follow company IT security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.Create and update user guides, FAQs, and knowledge base articles for common IT issues.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & ExperienceAssociate degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).1+ year of experience in IT support or a related technical role.CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications (preferred).Technical SkillsBasic knowledge of Windows operating systems and troubleshooting.Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common business applications.Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.Experience with remote support tools like Datto RMM.Soft SkillsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and customer service abilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsMay require lifting up to 50 lbs.
